PushBoss Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Effective date: August 2, 2026

Short version:

1. Who We Are

PushBoss (the "App") is developed and operated by Aleksandr Prikhodko, an individual developer trading as "PushBoss" (referred to as "we", "us", or "our"). For data protection purposes, we are the data controller for the limited information described below.

Contact: pushboss.app@gmail.com

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, where that information lives, and what rights you have. It applies to the PushBoss mobile application only.

2. No Accounts, No Sign-In

PushBoss does not offer account creation and does not support sign-in of any kind. There is no "Sign in with Apple", no Google sign-in, no email or password, and no social login. We do not collect your email address, phone number, postal address, or payment details.

Because there is no account, there is nothing for us to log you into and no user profile held on our side. See Section 8 for how deletion works in practice.

3. Information Stored On Your Device

Almost everything PushBoss knows about you is stored locally on your phone and never leaves it. This includes:

Setup answers we deliberately discard: the gender question and the "how often do you think about getting in shape" question are used only to pick the tone of the next screen. Those answers are held in temporary memory, are never written to storage, and are never transmitted anywhere.

4. Camera, Microphone, and Recordings

Camera and pose detection

To count your pushups, the App runs on-device pose detection (Google ML Kit Pose Detection) over the live camera feed. Camera frames are processed in real time on your device, are not written to disk by the rep counter, are never uploaded to any server, and are never accessible to us or to any third party. No image, video frame, or body-landmark data is transmitted off your phone.

Optional session recording

PushBoss offers an optional screen recording of your workout session, which you can turn on or off in Settings. When it is enabled:

Photo library

The App requests permission to add media to your photo library so it can save your session recordings. It does not read, browse, or upload your existing photos.

5. Information Sent To Third Parties

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. The App communicates with a small number of service providers, listed in full below. Each of these providers is bound by its own contractual and legal obligations to protect the data it receives.

Service Purpose What it receives
PostHog (PostHog, Inc., US cloud — us.i.posthog.com) Anonymous product analytics, so we can see which parts of the App are used and where people get stuck. A randomly generated anonymous installation identifier, plus events such as screens viewed, buttons tapped, sessions completed, rep counts, session duration, selected fitness level and weekly frequency, and basic device and app version information. It does not receive your name, email, camera data, recordings, or any advertising identifier. Automatic event capture and session replay are disabled.
RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) Managing subscription status and restoring purchases across devices. An anonymous RevenueCat identifier, your subscription and transaction status from the App Store, and the anonymous analytics identifier described above (so the two anonymous records can be matched). No name and no email.
Apple (App Store / StoreKit) Processing purchases, subscriptions, trials, and refunds. Apple handles the entire payment flow. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. Apple's own privacy policy governs that processing.
Expo (Expo EAS Update, 650 Industries, Inc.) Delivering over-the-air bug fixes and updates to the App. Standard technical request information when the App checks for an update, such as app version, platform, and the IP address of the request.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. If the App is ever transferred to another owner, the limited anonymous data described above may transfer with it, and this policy would be updated first.

6. What The App Does Not Do

7. Legal Bases and International Transfers

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract with you, for delivering the App's functionality and your subscription; and our legitimate interests, for anonymous analytics used to keep the App working, fix problems, and improve it. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time using the contact address below.

The service providers listed in Section 5 are located in the United States, so the limited anonymous data they receive is processed there. Those transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

8. Retention and Deletion

Because there is no account, Apple's in-app account deletion requirement does not apply. If you nevertheless want the anonymous analytics record for your installation erased, email us at pushboss.app@gmail.com and we will delete it. Please note that we cannot look up an anonymous record without the installation identifier, so the simplest and most complete option remains deleting the App.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact pushboss.app@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. In most cases you can exercise the access and deletion rights yourself and instantly, because the data is on your own device.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

The App's design is its main security property: sensitive material — camera frames, recordings, and your name — stays on your device and is never transmitted. Data in transit to the service providers listed above is encrypted using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. If we make a material change to how information is handled, we will make that clear in the App before the change takes effect.
